Intention
Aspiration. Aim. Purpose. Process of healing. Affirmation of one’s deepest truth. Although the word intention – to stretch towards, according to its etymology – has different connotations when used in different contexts, it tends to signal action directed at a goal.
When traversing coastal waters, navigators often rely on Marine VHF Radios to communicate their intention with other vessels. And when engaged in international or inland navigation, boats may use sound “if in doubt as to the intention of the crossing vessel.”
Since aquatic vessels cannot rely on visible landmarks (such as stop signs, or traffic lights) to either choose or indicate their course, it becomes crucially important to disclose one’s intention, for instance “to increase the safety of shipping and […] efficiency of vessel traffic management.”
Positive Psychology can help us transform our life intention and steer ourselves towards building the life that we want.
