Throughout our lives, we human beings (not unlike ships) often negotiate obstacles, and share our journey with others. At times, discipline (whichever of its many connotations [DISCIPLINE | English meaning – Cambridge Dictionary we choose to apply in our life – perhaps adherence to rules, or effort to control a situation, or ability to teach ourselves and others) may be necessary to guide us towards a goal we aspire to reach.
What if the rules we establish for ourselves and others in our life were life-affirming? Could we maintain ‘optimistic discipline,’ no matter what navigational challenges we face?
