Desert

Most deserts on earth are abandoned, arid, and adverse landscapes. In some cases, along with precipitation, they – somewhat surprisingly – lack heat and sand, too.

Antarctica is technically a desert – a place of extreme conditions, where water alternates between being scarce and icy, and life appears to be impossible.

And yet, amidst desolation, a diverse ecosystem flourishes, somewhat unexpectedly.

When we face emotionally harsh conditions, can optimism aid us in our search of meaning? Can we see more than what meets the (inner) eye, and remember that “human life, under any circumstances, never ceases to have a meaning” *?
